Famosa Slough Heron

I'm experimenting a bit with my painting process- trying to get values down better. So with this one I did a grayscale underpainting in acrylics, then applied oils over the top. I like what it does- makes it easier to stick with the value plan and not break up the masses too much.

Famosa Slough Heron, 11 x 14, acrylic/oil on prepared panel SOLD!

Here's the black and white underpainting.

Compared to the desaturated finished painting.
