A big 'Thank you' to everyone at ZLAC Rowing Club for the wonderful reception at their Annual Wine Tasting Event. I had so much fun, and hope all of those that are bringing new paintings into their homes enjoy them. Now, I need to get painting for the Bazaar in November!
This weekend it's more Art and Wine at the La Jolla Art and Wine Festival. This is the second year for the event, but will be my first year showing there. It's Saturday and Sunday, 11am - 6pm. It sure looks to be a great show. Hope to see you there!

Recent News
Not much posting going on, but still moving the paint around. I have had two paintings accepted into PaintAmerica's Paint the Parks Exhibit. This is a traveling exhibit focusing on the National Parks. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful show. I painted pieces from Cabrillo National Monument here in San Diego. "Lost and Found" is part of the Top 100 and my painting "Tidepoolers" won the Director's Choice Award for the small paintings division.

I also have a painting in the California Art Club show "California Heritage". The painting is "En Route to the Prado"- a painting of Balboa Park.

ArtWalk this weekend
Mission Federal ArtWalk in Little Italy, San Diego has arrived. It's this weekend April 24th and 25th. This year the festival has longer hours
(11 am to 6pm) to take advantage of our gorgeous San Diego days. It should be a great event- I'm very much looking forward to it. I'll be in Booth #112, go west on Beech St. near the Trolley. Hope to see you there!

Beautiful Morning- Ocean Beach
All things 'art' are very good these days. This painting has been accepted into the 19th California Art Club Juried Exhibition at The Historic Blinn House in Pasadena: "Surf’s Up: Artists Capture the California Coast".
It will be on display there April 17 - August 11, 2010
This was painted on location on a paintout with the PA meetup group- a really nice group of painters. I had a lot of fun with this one. It's such a great feeling when a painting just comes together- not that it "painted itself", which I hear sometimes, but it did seem to work as I was out there. I was consciously focused on keeping the light and shadow values separate. It's something I've been working on a lot lately. I think it made for a stronger painting.
I'm definitely headed back to OB/Sunset Cliffs- I think it may be my lucky spot!
