Here is my week one painting from Robert Watts painting class. We painted from a photo in the studio for this one- next week will be plein air. I think it's going to be a really good class. Lots of talented people, for sure.

Quartermass-Stensrud House
Painted today from the backyard. This is the house across the street- the Quartermass-Stensrud House. It's being restored by our neighbors and they have undertaken a huge project in this 100 year old Colonial-style hipped cottage. Here's an article written about the restoration: http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20050320/news_lz1h20restore.html

About Plein Maps
This is a project I've had in mind for a while now. I finally gave it a go and I think it's a successful start. I can take info on nice PA locations, with details, and possibly (hopefully) photos of the location. Now if we can just get everyone to share their favorites!

December 28th
This is the view of the San Diego River around Sea World. I'd like to explore this area more.

Torrey Pine on a hill
Did this one in Torrey Pines State Park. The kids and I sat trailside, they did a couple of watercolors and played while I did this quick one. The kids were ready to go, so this is as far as I got.
